412,124. Skin-puncturing appliances. OKUMURA, Y., 57, Edobori Shimo-dori, 5-Chome, Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan. Dec. 19, 1933, No. 35733. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1932. [Class 81 (ii).] A device for puncturing the skin comprises a tubular casing 1 carrying an inner set of fine needles 16 and an outer set of thick needles 25 which are adapted to be projected past the end of the tube to puncture the skin by pressure on a spring-controled operating cap 6 and are adjustably mounted so that either set or both can be brought into operative position. The inner needles are mounted on a block 10 connected to the cap 6 by a member 7 and are housed within a tube 13 through orifices in the end of which they project. The outer needles are mounted on a ring or nut 21 threaded to engage the tube 13 but prevented from rotating by lugs 21 engaging slots in the casing 1. By rotating the cap 6 the outer needles may be advanced from a position in rear of the needles 16 until they are in the same plane or in advance of the latter. A cap 4 provided with a sponge 5 for disinfectant closes the casing 1 when the apparatus is not in use.
