Abstract
412,082. Thermostats. STAHEL, W., 117, Bruggerstrasse, Baden, Switzerland. Oct. 13,1933, No. 28367. Convention date, Oct. 13, 1932. [Class 64 (ii).] The heating winding c of a bimetallic strip a is wound longitudinally round it. There may be one or more turns and the turns may be in series or parallel and insulation is provided between the winding and the strip and outside the winding. The ends of the winding are connected to feet e, f which serve as terminals and also to clamp the one end of the strip and the winding. A space m is left at the top of the strip to allow easy bending. The winding passes through an open or closed slot i at the top of the bimetallic strip a so that it cannot slip off. The time lag in the response of the device may be varied by varying the thickness of the insulation. The bending of the strip may open or close a circuit.
