Abstract

410,962. Storing liquefied gases. LINDE AIR PRODUCTS CO., 30, East 42nd Street, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Edwards, H. D. ; 55, Pinebrook Drive, Larchmont, New York, U.S.A.) April 24, 1933, No. 11969. Convention date, July 22, 1932. [Class 8 (ii).] Liquefied gas is stored in a flexible metal basket 11 which is suspended by wires 23 from the inside of a vessel 10. This vessel is provided with strengthening and heat-interchanging ribs 45 and its ends are closed by caps 15 each provided with a gas valve 42. A shield 35 is placed under the basket to catch liquefied gas which escapes from it. In one modification the basket is folded like an umbrella, whilst in another modification the liquefied gas is held in separate containers each connected to a central pivot in the main vessel and each being capable of being inserted through the opening in the vessel.
