[Class 80 (ii).] A control valve for a pneumatic relay for actuating a change speed gear on a motor vehicle in which there are two control points on the vehicle. Fig. 4 shows the example where there are four gears and each gear is put into action by one of the spring loaded pistons c, the cylinders of which are connected by pipes e to ports 4<m>, 4<n>, 4<r>, 4<s> of a valve face 2. A disc valve 8 is rotatably mounted on this face and is provided with a port 8<c> which connects to the back of the valve 8 which is open to air pressure through the pipe f. Further ports 8<a>, 8<b> are provided which are connected by a diametrical port which further connects them to a port in the centre of the valve aligning with a port b connected to atmosphere. The ports are shaped so that any port 4<m>, 4<n>, 4<r>, 4<s> may be connected to the pressure air to actuate the selected gear or all ports may be opened to atmosphere (neutral position) or all ports may be closed to the atmosphere and pressure air in which case the control may be exercised from the other point. One handle 15 is provided for both control valves and it is arranged that the handle cannot be removed unless the valve is in position to close the ports 4<m>, 4<n>, 4<r>, 4<s> to air pressure and atmosphere.
