[Classes 63 and 141.] A woven elastic ribbon usable as a hat band for felt hats or berets, or as a label or hanger, has elastic warp threads comprising a rubber core deposited directly from an aqueous dispersion covered with opposite windings of textile material or braided over. The ribbon may also have inelastic warp threads. The weft comprises inelastic textile threads of cotton, linen, silk, wool, or rayon, and the covering for the rubber cores may be of the same or different material. The elastic and inelastic threads may be of substantially the same fineness. A grossgrain ribbon for a hat band with a warp entirely of elastic threads and a weft of inelastic threads is illustrated. Fig. 2 shows a woven stocking top with a warp comprising one elastic thread 3 and two inelastic threads 4 alternating and with a weft of inelastic threads looped at one side over a removable wire to form starting loops for knitting on to a stocking. Fig. 3 shows a ribbon formed with a jacquard design of inelastic wefts used as a label or hanger for sweaters. U.S.A. Specifications 1,545,257 and 1,822,847 are referred to. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 it is stated that the elastic threads may have a core cut from calendered rubber. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
