Abstract
411,269. Materials for wearing- apparel. UNITED STATES RUBBER CO., 1790, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Adamson, P. ; 1790, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.) April 5, 1933, Nos. 10253 and 10254. Convention dates, April 11, 1932 and Oct. 1, 1932. [Class 141.] A knitted fabric for making portions or the whole of outer wear garments such as bathing suits, sweater suits, and dresses comprises alternate courses of ordinary inelastic yarns 7 and elastic yarns 6 comprising a rubber core 8 deposited directly from an aqueous dispersion and enclosed within a covering, which may comprise opposite windings of textile threads. The yarns 6, 7 may be of the same fineness so that the garment fabric simulates in appearance one knitted entirely from inelastic yarns. In a modification, the garment is knitted entirely from the elastic yarn 6. The yarns used for covering the rubber cores may be the same as or different from the yarns 7, which may comprise cotton, silk, wool, or rayon. Several courses of elastic yarn may be combined with several courses of inelastic yarn or the yarns may be knitted together in a mixed knit or plated. The skirt or body portions only of the garment may contain elastic yarns, the other portions containing only fibrous yarns. Specification 370,761 is referred to. The elastic yarn used may be made as described in U.S.A. Specifications 1,545,257 and 1,822,847. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 it is stated that elastic yarns having cores cut from calendered sheet rubber may be used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
