409,745. Planes, tools, and cutters. SENECAL, C. H., Walpole, Lower Amersham Road, Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire. Nov. 3, 1932, No. 31063. [Classes 61 (ii) and 145 (i).] A cutter or shaping device comprising laminµ &c. which when loosely assembled may be applied to the contour of a moulding &c. and assume at their cutting or shaping edges the contour of the moulding so that when they are clamped together the cutter will present a cutting edge exactly corresponding to the moulding, has the laminae d assembled between longitudinal side plates i to which transverse pressure is applied by means such as wedges operated by screws. In a hand plane, laminµ c, with their widths constituting the breadth of the cutter, are clamped between side plates a and the cutting laminµ d with the plates i are wedged between side frames e adjustable in the side plates a by bolts and wing nuts k. For moulding plaster, the cutter d is not ground to a sharp edge, but for wood cutting, the laminµ are set on a plane surface and ground in the usual way. The invention may be applied to rotary cutting blades.
