Abstract

409,258. Building blocks and tiles. RAINFORD POTTERIES, Ltd., and GRUNDY, F. W., Rainford, near St. Helens, Lancashire. Jan. 4, 1934, No. 294. [Class 87 (i).] A method of forming slabs or tiles from ceramic earthenware or like material comprises extruding clay from a die 'or moulding it to form a hollow four-sided prismatic body 1 having an acute angle 5, baking it, and then splitting the body along the acute angle 5 and the opposing apex 6 to form two angular slabs 7, 8. The inner surface of the clay body is formed with dovetail grooves 2, 3, by means of knives or the like projecting from the die. Specification 400,535 is referred to.
