Abstract

408,607. Sanitary closets; bed-pans &c. REES, F. G., 24, Windsor Street, Uplands, Swansea. Oct. 10, 1932, No. 28207. [Class 26.] Means whereby. specimens of excrement may be obtained for examination, comprises a receptacle having suspending means extending from only two opposite sides or ends thereof and adapted to be removably engaged over the edge of a closet, commode, bed-pan &c. The receptacle may take the form of a rectangular plate 3 having a concave upper face 7 intended to receive a renewable covering such as that, 11, shown in Fig. 2. The plate is suspended by means of stranded wires 5, 6 which are preferably covered, in the regions 8 where they are bent over the bowl, with rubber. The plate may be detachably attached to its supporting members, and may have an aperture leading to a vessel for the collection of liquid-matter. In another form, the supporting plate may be dispensed with and the receptacle may then take the form of the covering shown in Fig. 2, which is secured in position by means of a band of elastic &c. material, adapted to extend round the outside of the bowl and having suspending arms extending over the rim and down the inside of the bowl.
