[Class 142 (ii).] The wires &c. have removable cutting knives displaceably mounted so that they can be pivoted or rocked about their front ends as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, or about their rear ends, or be slidden in a recess 14, Fig. 7, whereby two or more different points A, B, G, H, I, of the knives may be moved in succession into operative cutting position. Each pile wire may be formed from a blank with two recessed walls, which when folded form recesses with two abutments 4, 4<1>, 3, 3<1>. When the knife is situated with its rear end under the abutment 4, 41, as shown in Fig. 2 the cutting is affected by the front A of the knife. When this part becomes blunt, the knife is moved under the abutment, 3, 3<1>, as shown in Fig. 3, to bring the point B into operative position. Either a curved knife 12 as shown in Fig. 7, or a straight one may be used in the recess 14 and be held by a bevelled overlapping lug 15 a nose 16 of the knife being engageable in one of several recesses 17.
