Abstract
408,045. Gates. POWNER, E. D., and POWNER, W. D., 13, Rockingham Street, Leeds. Nov. 9, 1932, No. 31569. [Class 45.] The pickets of a collapsable gate are formed of round bars or tubes 1 which serve as pivots for link members 2 which interconnect adjacent pickets, and lazy tongs 9 are pivoted at one end to alternate pickets and are slidingly connected at their other ends to the same pickets, the connection being such that the gate cannot be fully extended flat with all the pickets in line. The links are secured against longitudinal movement on the pickets. Plates extending the full height of the gate, and subsidiary intermediate pickets 3<x> may be secured to the link members or in some forms the link members may be of such dimensions as in themselves to constitute such plates.
