[Class 5 (i).] An apparatus for electrocuting animals comprises a cabinet embodying a chamber in which the animal is placed, such chamber being provided with interior insulation and electrodes so arranged that the electrical connection is to the head and rear part of the animal. A cabinet a comprises a chamber b containing a glass tray c on which the animal stands and electrodes f, g in the form of a bipartite collar for attachment to the neck of the animal, Fig. 3, and a link chain for attachment to the leg of the animal, Fig. 6, respectively. Alternatively, the collar may be formed of links or the leg electrode as a bipartite collar. The chamber is closed at the top by a shutter d, moving in either of two grooves e, e<1> and provided with contact pins coacting with sockets i, i<1> to close the electrocuting circuit. In a modification, Fig. 8, the electrocuting chamber comprises a drawer n containing a tray p of porcelain, the rear portion of which is covered by a metal plate q forming the leg electrode, the other electrode comprising a yoke r<1>, r<2>. The drawer n comprises contact blades t<1> engaging studs on the cabinet so that closing of the drawer closes the electrocuting circuit.
