Abstract
834,564. Two-part couplings. BUSCHJAEGER DURENER METALLWERKE A.G. May 15, 1956 [July 12, 1955], No. 15142/56. Class 38 (1). In a socket for a fluorescent lamp starter unit and consisting of a rectangular base 1 and cover 4, the base is provided at its corners with recesses 1a ... 1d, pairs of which are adapted to accommodate terminals 2 attached to a pair of strip contacts 3 according to whether the terminal screws are required to be accessible from the front or rear of the socket. As shown, the terminals 2 occupy recesses 1b and 1d so that the screws are accessible through holes 1e, 1f in the cover. If it is desired that the screws should be accessible from the rear of the base, recesses 1a, 1c are used for the terminals, the screws thereof registering with apertures 1g, 1h in the base. In the former case the contacts extend from the feet of the terminals whilst in the latter case they extend from the heads of the terminals.
