Abstract
406,690. Floors and roofs. SHRYOCK, J. G., 22nd Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A. Aug. 2, 1932, No. 21705. Convention date, Aug. 1, 1931. [Class 20 (iv).] Floors, roofs, bridges, and analogous structures are comprised of a plurality of beams with mutually perpendicular webs and flanges disposed with alternate beams resting on a supporting structure and with the remainder straddling the spaces so formed with the flanges of all the beams overlapping. The flanges may be in direct contact or expansion elements may be inserted between them. The beams may be of channel section or of I-section, Fig. 4, or, as shown in Fig. 5, alternately of channel and I-section. The structure may be made in standard elements in section and rapidly laid without requiring temporary flooring to be used. The abutting flanges may be welded, riveted or bolted together. A final floor of concrete, gypsum, asphalt, terra-cotta, wood may be laid on the structure.
