Abstract

406,340. Rearing-appliances; coops. MILES, F. A., Potters Forstal Farm, Egerton, Kent. Aug. 24, 1932, No. 23692. [Class 5 (ii).] A fostermother or coop for poultry, rabbits, ferrets, and like animals comprises an open top box-like structure 1, wire net covers 5, 6 adapted to cover the open top thereof, solid flaps 7 adapted to cover those covers 5 which are situated adjacent the ends of the structure, and a movable roofing member 3 situated at a median position and adapted to cover the portion of the open top situated between the flaps 7 and to overlap such flaps. The member 3 comprises perforated zinc panels 4, transparent netting reinforced celluloid panels and water channels 9 and is supported in the open position by a hinged strut. The structure 1 comprises a removable, central division plate 2 and gratings 12, the latter depending nearly to the floor to allow the passage of the young therebeneath. The central portion of the floor is of metal or wood and the outer portions of wire netting, or the floor may consist entirely of wire netting. According to the Provisional Specification, the members 12 are of wire netting.
