Abstract

405,901. Applying lotions &c. to the body. KRAUER, J. I., 7, Carlton Road, Putney Hill, London. Aug. 12, 1933, No. 22530. [Class 81 (ii).] In apparatus for applying lotions, oils, and other liquids or semi-liquids to the body, and comprising a container such as a bottle 1 carrying a socket for a cylindrical or spherical applicator 12, the applicator is formed with cavities 13 in its surface to assist in conveyance of the lotions &c. from the container. As shown the bottle 1 has a screw-neck 2 carrying one part 3 of a two-part spherical socket 3, 4 screwed together at 6. The part 3 communicates with the bottle through a bore 8 and the part 4 is cut away annularly at 11. The applicator 12 is preferably of rubber but may be of metal, porcelain, glass, cellulose or the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite." The part 4 may be screwed up or down to control the outlet from the bottle or to close it completely. When a cylindrical applicator is employed the members 3, 4 jointly formed with a cylindrical socket, are arranged to abut one another, the abutting portions being connected by a screw union ring. The applicator may be covered when out of use by a screw or friction cap 22.
