Abstract
405,126. Roofing-tiles. LUDOWICI K.-G. A. AKT., C., Jockgrim, Pfalz, Germany. March 4, 1933, Nos. 6654 and 6655. Convention dates, April 23, 1932 and Sept. 17, 1932. [Class 87 (i).] An interlocking roofing-tile comprises one or more head ribs e, f, a bottom closing rib g set back and adapted to engage with the head rib f of the next lower tile, an upwardly directed rib at one side forming the boundary wall of a main drainage trough b, said wall having an auxiliary trough b<1> formed therein, and a pair of underneath side closing ribs c, a, adapted to engage respectively with the troughs b, b<1> in the adjacent tile. The top edge of each tile is formed with a rib p for securing to the rafters, while the lower end of the tile is curved round as at n. A central longitudinal rib k is provided with a hole o<1> for tying, and joins a further transverse rib l with similar holes. The rib f has two gaps therein for the escape of water, and is joined to the rib e by short longitudinal ribs which engage corresponding slots in the ribs g of the tiles above. Modifications may be made in the ribs e, f, g to permit longitudinal adjustment of the tiles, and the ends of the lower edge n may be notched to facilitate the escape of water from the trough b.
