Abstract

The process described in Specifications 388,463 and 391,208 for glazing plaster walls &c. by applying a composition containing cement and water-insoluble particles of an organic substance such as powdered celluloid, and, when set, coating with a waterproof varnish containing solvents for the organic substance, is applied also to other surfaces such as metal plates or oil-painted objects given a rough surface, if necessary, by coating with a composition containing glue and fibrous material, or to tiles &c. freshly moulded from fine concrete. Flame-like &c. decorative patterns may be produced by suitably directing jets of coloured cement composition on to the uneven surface produced by means of the air-or steam-jet. The surface may be marked to simulate tiling. Specifications 3423/10, [Class 95, Paints &c.], and 384,657, [Group X], also are referred to.
