[Class 40 (iv).] In a micro-telephone, the plane h of the telephone diaphragm H is parallel to the plane m of the microphone diaphragm M and oblique to the axis of the handle A, the plane m being displaced a distance d from the plane n so as to intersect the axis of the handle A at a greater distance from the middle of the handle than does the plane h. The mouthpiece t may be integral with a ring r, obliquely bored and threaded to receive the microphone box. The mouthpiece is held in position by a spring actuated detent f which snaps into an aperture o in the ring r and must be pushed in before the ring r can be removed.
