Abstract

402,579. Lubricating laminated springs. WOODHEAD, G. A., The Grange, Old Park Road, Rotindhay, and WOODHEAD & SONS, Ltd., J., Kirkstall Road, both in Leeds. Oct. 18, 1932, No. 29054. [Class 12 (ii).] One, or more, of the intermediate plates b, c, d of a laminated spring is or are provided with a rolled eye b<1> c<1>, d<1> which serves as or receives a lubricant reservoir, the eye being in open communication with grooves or ducts f in the plates. If a spring has a plurality of rolled eyes, they may be interconnected in series or parallel by pipes m. The oil may be fed to the plates by wicks which lie in the grooves f and dip into the reservoirs. Each eye may be blocked at one end and have a charging nipple at the other end, or, as shown in Fig. 3, a container k may be pressed into the eye b<1>.
