Abstract

402,538. Ladders. BOTELER, E. J., 84, Glencairn Road, Streatham, London. July 28, 1932, No. 21307. [Class 20 (ii).] A bracket for holding a ladder A from a wall comprises a metal bar 1 of substantially channelshaped form which is clamped to the ladder in such a manner that the bent ends 2 of the bar project from the ladder and serve as struts engaging the wall surface. The ladder is clamped between the bar 1 and a flat bar 4, as shown in plan in Fig. 2, by means of bolts 6 which pass through holes 3, 5 in the two bars and are engaged by nuts 7. The struts 2 are flared outwardly from the central portion of the bar 1 and are provided with one or more points 2a at the ends for engaging the wall surface. A board 9, Fig. 5, to form a support for tools &c. may be placed on the struts 2.
