Abstract

400,854. Hinges. KAHLMANN, E., 33, Dantes Plads, Copenhagen. April 19, 1933, No. 11498. [Class 65 (ii).] A swivelling closure for bottles, jars, dust bins, &c. comprises a cover part 1 to which is secured a pin 3 having the lower end 6 threaded and engaging a threaded hole 7 in an apertured base part 8, affording a rising pivot. The pin is adjustably secured to the cover, the upper portion being of conical form or of polygonal or channelled shape in section and engaging in a correspondingly-shaped opening in the cover, being clamped by a nut or other suitable means. The disposition of the parts may be reversed, the pin being secured to the base portion and working in a threaded opening in the cover. The invention is stated to be applicable also to oven doors and to covers for pipes.
