[Classes 17 (ii) and 17 (iii).] An exchangeable heel or heel pad comprises an intermediate member 5 fixed to the shoe or heel base and formed with a longitudinal slot 7, and a tread part 1 having a rib 3 co-operating with the slot 7, the rib 3 being formed with two notches 4a, 4b having inclined surfaces, one notch engaging a metal plate 6 of the intermediate member 5 and the other notch being engaged by a pivoted locking slide 8, which is itself locked against automatic opening by means of a rotatable member 10 adapted to engage behind a downwardly-projecting part of the metal plate 6.
