398,465. Vehicle bodies. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G., 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Trautvetter, G. ; 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) June 2, 1933, No. 15982. Convention date, June 3, 1932. [Class 108 (i).] In vehicle bodies having a sheet-metal wall construction wherein the outer panel 1 is flanged around the openings as shown at 5 for the door openings, the flanging is provided with an offset portion 7 to which the inner panel 4 is secured by spot welding, said offset enabling the dressing tool to remove the visible effects of the welding while at the same time avoiding contact of the tool with the remainder of the flanging. The offset is provided with a shoulder 8 to enable a portion 12 of the panel 9 having channels 10 therein to nest therewith.
