Abstract

397,873. Plug couplings. CRABTREE, J. A., Endwood, Little Aston Park, Sutton Coldfield, and HARRISON, B. G., Ambleside, Birmingham Road, Wallsall. Feb. 25, 1932, No. 5611. [Class 38 (i).] Each contact pin b is inserted in a blind hole a<1> in the base a and is secured therein by a screw c that also secures a fuse wire el and connects it to the contact. The screw is placed obliquely, at right-angles to a surface d<1> in the recess d that gives access to the screw. The fuse wire lies in an arcuate channel and is'attached at the remote end to a terminal f to which a flex is connected. The connections are enclosed by a cover secured by a knob, the cover being made of or lined with a refractory material. Specification 321,409, [Class 38 (i), Electric. couplings &c.], is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification the holes a<1> may be formed as slots, and the pin mounted at one end of a corresponding flat-shaped boss. The pins may thus be replaced 'by smaller pins mounted on the other end of similar bosses, to produce a standard coupling of lower rating.
