Abstract

396,624. Ventilating systems. SOC. ITALIANA COSTRUZIONI ANTIGAS S.I.C.A. SOC. ANON. and CORNETTO, G., 3, Via Cesare Battisti, Turin, Italy. Jan. 16, 1933, No. 1423. [Class 137.] A forced ventilation appliance is arranged in a closed space in which persons may shelter during gas attacks, this appliance creating a pressure slightly in excess of atmospheric so as to prevent penetration of the outside atmosphere. The apparatus comprises a fan 6, purifier 3, and regenerator 4 connected through a valve 5 with a chimney or shaft 2. The filter, Fig. 3, contains a filling 8 sprayed by a pipe 10 which recirculates the liquid from a container 11, and is easily removed by raising by a lever 19, a telescopic portion 16, and lifting an extension 12 clear of a conical joint 13. According to the setting of the valve 5, fresh air may be supplied to the chamber 1, and discharged through the usual outlets, or through the shaft 2, or filtered air may be supplied and discharged through the usual outlets, or regenerated air may be supplied in closed circuit, oxygen being obtained from cylinders 7.
