Abstract
396,419. Surgical dressings and applying-means therefor; boxes; packing. ZOCHER, C., 23II, Windscheidstrasse, Leipsic, Germany. Jan. 22, 1932, No. 2066. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1931. Addition to 396,418. [Class 81 (ii).] In a modification of the parent Specification, measured quantities of cotton wool f are separated from one another, each in a folded separating layer e of paper, parchment, gauze, isinglass, &c., and are packed in a casing made of paper or the like in a container. To facilitate withdrawal of the cotton wool from the separating layer, one side of the latter may be shorter than the other or may be notched as at c<2>. A suitable container for the bundles d comprises a box a divided by a vertical or inclined partition or partitions b into storage and withdrawal compartments, individual pieces of cotton wool in their folded separating layers being accommodated in the latter with the folded edge uppermost. The partitions band front side of the box are preferably provided with finger notches to facilitate withdrawal of the cotton wool. Medicines, and more particularly a cotton-wool holder g, provided with a rotatable slide member for stripping off used wool, may be disposed in the box lid or elsewhere in the box.
