[Class 3 (ii).] A device for application to yarns, threads, hosiery, neck-ties, scarves and the like foi binding, fastening, displaying and like purposes consists of a tubular body having at the front or back a plurality of grip members which extend in a circumferential direction, said article or goods being passed through the body and engaged by the said grip members. As showr in Figs. 4 and 5, the device comprises a flattened tubular member 1, either formed from a lengtl of tubular material or by folding a strip o: sheet material to form a flattened band and securing the ends 1a, 1b by adhesive, the front 5 being cut along lines 6 to form grip member 7, 8. To secure a pair of stockings together Fig. 1, the members 7 are bent forwardly and the members 8 rearwardly, and the stocking passed between the members to be gripped thereby. A member 7 may be formed wit] slots 12 for the ends 13 of a mending card 11 The sides 14 may be inclined to correspond more closely with the shape of the stockings. The back of the whole of the device may serve as a board or card upon which the article or goods may be folded for packing. Fig. 10 shows the application to a skein of mending wool wherein the device, Fig. 9, comprises a tube 1e of cardboard slit at the front along lines 6b, the portions 8c between each pair of slits being pressed rearwardly to form grip members and the skein a being passed through the tube between the portions 7c, 8c. Advertising matter may be displayed on the members 1, 1e.
