L. P., South Park, Coatbridge, both in Lanarkshire. July 19, 1932, No. 20385. [Class 20 (ii).] Supports for the roof, sides, or floors of mines, tunnels, and the like, comprise H-section joists 6 and corrugated metal plates 1 arranged edge to edge and of such a depth that they approximately fill the web spaces of the joists, thus preventing the plates from overriding. The abutting edges 9 are flanged and the plates are sufficiently stiff to act as struts between the joists. For flooring, the joists are straight or only slightly curved.
