Abstract

394,831. Knitting-machines. ELITE-DIAMANTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siegmar, near Chemnitz, Germany. Aug. 17, 1932, No. 23079. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1931. [Class 74 (ii).] The fabric take-up roller 1 of a parallel machine is divided into a number of parts, each of which is driven by a friction coupling element. In one form, Fig. 1, endless spiral springs form a driving belt 23 for each of the roller sections. Ir the form shown ir Fig. 5, each section is driven by a fric. tion pad 12 urgec against the driving shaft 5 by a leaf spring 13 adjustable by a screw 14. Ir another form fric tion discs arranged between the sections are controlled by springs arranged for axial thrust upon the discs. An expanding ring friction drive is also described.
