[Class 141.] To provide freedom of movement for the wearer's arms in garments of the Raglan type the sleeve sections 6, 7, 8, Fig. 3, are provided with " grown-on " portions 3, 9, 10 respectively whereby the sleeve is flared outwardly when in the raised position and in the lowered portions, one or more folds are formed. The two points b, e forming the extreme lateral ends of the top part of the sleeve are external to the " square " as shown in Fig. 6. The " square " is indicated by the lines AC, CE, ED, DA, the points B<1>, D<2> of the sleeve lying external thereto and in a raised position with respect to the corresponding points A, D<1> on the sleeve of the usual Raglan type, which is indicated in dotted lines. The curved lines B<1>, 39 and D<2> 38 of the new type sleeve are equal to the corresponding curved lines A, 39 and D, 38 respectively of the old type. In a modification the two pieces 7, 8 shown in Fig. 3 are cut as one piece. The positions of cutting for the sleeve portions may be obtained with reference to a " scale " which is a factor calculated from the chest measurement by adding two inches to the chest measurement in inches and halving the sum thereof.
