Abstract

392,739. Tensioning and letting-off warps in looms. CAMPS, J. P., 80, Colomer Street, Sabadell, Spain. May 23, 1932, No. 14545. [Class 142 (ii).] Positive let-off motions controlled by back-rest movements.-Warp threads from the beam R pass over rollers F, F mounted respectively on the axis of a counterweighted bell-crank lever K and on an arm I carried by the lever. The other arm K<1> is connected to a rod P carrying two perforated pistons Y movable in a dashpot cylinder which is filled with dense liquid and is reciprocated by connection to a bell-crank lever D actuated by a cam E on the crank-shaft. A rod B connected to the lay and to a lever N carrying ratchets T, Fig. 2, causes rotation of a ratchet wheel L on a worm in mesh with a worm wheel Z on the warp beam. A mask U for the ratchets is mounted on a lever oscillated by its connection with a link G connected to the arm K<1>. When the tension becomes excessive, the fluid connection between the lever D and rod P allows the relative positions of the parts to change so that the mask U is moved out of the path of the let-off pawl, while the movements of the rod P are damped by the dashpot.
