Abstract

390,351. Stocking-heel protectors. LUCKING, S., Boughton Works, Chester. June 4, 1932, No. 15818. [Class 17 (ii).] A stocking-heel protector which moves with the foot in wear between the stocking and the shoe and comprises a tread portion and an upstanding heel portion is deformed when in use from its normal shape so that the sides of the heel portion move inwards to grip the heel of the wearer. The protector comprises a tread portion 1 and a heel portion 2 which may be of sponge or sheet rubber or other material and moulded integrally in one piece or made in two pieces vulcanized, cemented, or sewn together. The under edge of the portion forming the heel 2 is sinuosoidal or curved in shape so that when joined to the rounded rear edge of the tread portion 1, the protector assumes a shape as shown in full lines, so that when the sides 5 are contracted inwards and the edge 6 pushed back the device is deformed to grip the wearer's heel.
