Abstract
390,098. Waste-outlet fittings for baths, basins, &c. SMITH & DAVIS, Ltd. and SMITH, H. F., Beacon Works, Hampton Street, Birmingham. Oct. 31, 1932, No. 30446. [Class 26.] Mounts for plugs for wasteoutlets are manufactured by severing short lengths from extruded or rolled metal bar of suitable section and then piercing the web for receiving the chain. The form of bar preferably employed, of which a severed length is shown in Fig. 5, comprises a central web 1 having a flange 2 and shoulders 6 projecting from both sides of the web and spaced apart by a distance equal to, or slightly less than, the thickness of the rubber into which the mount is to be inserted. The undersurface of the flange 2 may be part cylindrical as at 4 and part circular recesses 5 may be provided between the flange 2 and the web 1. Further, the opposite sides of the upper portion of the web may be parallel or inclined to each other and the portions 10 of the web 1 may be rounded.
