Abstract

402,277. Cables. LIVERPOOL ELECTRIC CABLE CO., Ltd., and TERRY, W. J., Linacre Lane, Bootle, Liverpool. Feb. 10, 1933, No. 4193. [Class 36.] An electric cable is formed during manufacture with a number of strips or patches indicating the distance of the points at which they occur from a definite end of the cable. The patches may be formed by extruding coloured rubber on to the cable through suitable dies, after the fashion described in Specification 401,529, [Group V]. Fig. 1 shows a cable marked with patches occurring in pairs, the length of each patch denoting the length of cable originally present between the patches and the end of the cable in the direction of the patch in the pairs. Alternatively the patches may denote lengths and the end of the cable from which the lengths are measured denoted by arrow-shaped patches.
