389,734. Mixing-valves. TRUBERT, R., 2, Rue de l'Arsenal, Arras, Pas-de-Calais, France. Aug. 24, 1932, No. 23684. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1931. [Class 135.] A mixing-valve for hot and cold water has main valves controlling the hot and cold inlets actuated by fluid pressure acting on diaphragms or pistons under the control of an auxiliary valve formed by a bimetallic strip 22 movable between a pair of opposed nozzles 14, 15. In the form shown each main valve comprises a cup-leather 17 clamped between a plate 18 and a nut member 19 and slidable in a cylinder 11 to co-operate with a seat 21. The plates 18 are provided with restricted orifices 20 so that when the bimetallic strip moves to throttle the outlet from one of the nozzles the corresponding main valve is moved towards its seat. The thermal strip is arranged within a perforated mixing tube 5 housed in a chamber 1 and is anchored to a lever 23. This lever, which is pivoted to the casing at 24, is acted on by a spring 25 and by an adjusting screw 26 having a manipulating handle 28 movable over a graduated scale whereby the temperature of the issuing water may be adjusted.
