[Class 18.] In a case for protecting books, periodicals, pamphlets, &c. of parallelopipedic form with one of the narrower sides left open for the introduction of the book &c., the rear side 3 opposite the open side is made in the shape of the rear edge of a book, and is provided with one or more openings 12 which may be covered by transparent material, such as glass, to exhibit the title &c. printed on the rear edge of the book. The larger sides 1, 1<1> of the case may be cut away at 5 at the open edges to facilitate withdrawal of the book &c. The rear side 3 of the case may be flat with rounded corners or, as shown, rounded and grooved along the longitudinal lines 8. The sides 1, 1<1>, 3 may. project above the plane of the top and bottom sides, which may be provided with longitudinal lines 14 resembling the edges of the leaves of a book.
