Abstract
388,632. Inductances. FREDERIKSEN, F. M., Skorping, Aalborg, Denmark. June 14, 1932, No. 16811. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1931. [Class 37.] A rotatable wave-band switch for radio receiving-apparatus has three operative positions for connecting a set of coils in series, parallel, or series-parallel respectively and means for centre-tapping the coil combination in use. As shown applied to a transformer, a rotatable insulating drum 5 carries sets of contact pins 12 passing through the drum, bars 14 embedded in its surface, and short cross-connected bars 13, all of which are engageable with spring contacts 7 connected to two sets of coils 8, 9, 10, 11, which form the transformer windings, in such a way that each set of coils is connected in series, parallel, or series-parallel according as the contacts 12, 14, or 13 respectively are brought into engagement with the contacts 7. Centre-tapping of the parallel combination is provided by a lead 23 and a spring blade 24, which is connected by a short bar 14, Fig. 5, with a spring blade 20 and lead 21, and that of the other two combinations by a lead 18, spring blade 19, and a conductor 13a, Fig. 5, embedded in the drum, which again establishes connection with the blade 20. A variable condenser 17 connected in the primary circuit may be arranged to be operated by rotation of the drum.
