388,333. Making cutting-chains. ANDERSON, A. and ANDERSON, BOYES, & CO., Ltd., Flemington Electrical Works, Motherwell, Lanarkshire. Sept. 28, 1932, No. 26901. [Class 83 (ii).] A pick-carrying block for cutter chains is made in two parts, one consisting of a bridge member 1 integral with one of the side plates 2 and having machined therein a notch 3 forming three walls of a pick-receiving socket of rectangular cross section, and the other part consisting of a horn 8 integral with the other side plate 7. The horn 8 is accommodated in the notch 3 and forms the fourth wall of the socket. The edges of the bridge-piece are united by welding to the side-plate 7 and the edges of the notch and the horn are united by welding.
