Abstract

Joints, carpenters' &c.-In a dovetail-joint for connecting boards &c., the abutting edges are each formed with a dovetailed projection 1 and with a complementary groove 2, located symmetrically on either side of the centre line. The projection and recess may be contiguous, as shown in Fig. 4; or a part of the normal edge may be left between them, as shown in Fig. 3. The joint may be slanted, as shown in Fig. 5.
