Abstract

388,034. Grinding - discs. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.- (Gardner Machine Co. ; 481, Gardner Street, Beloit, Wisconsin, U.S.A.) Aug. 8, 1931, No. 22513. [Class 60.] A grinding-disc, mounted on a supporting and driving wheel 10, consists of a front operative layer 13 of bonded abrasive intimately connected to a rear thinner layer 14 of stronger moulded material which may contain also a reinforcing wire mesh 17. The disc is secured to the wheel 10 by screws 16 passing through the wheel and engaging nuts 15 embedded in the layer 14 ; the nuts may have reduced parts 22, Fig. 3, engaging in meshes in the wire 17. The disc may comprise an annular ring of smaller radial depth than that shown in Fig. 1, the layer 14 extending inwardly beyond the inner edge of the disc. The disc may be secured to the wheel by screws passing through holes in the disc to screw into the wheel, washers, to engage the screw heads, being provided in the layer 1'4.
