Abstract

387,831. Condensers. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., Caxton House, Tothill Street, London, and GEE, F. J., Blencathra, Bean Road, Bexley Heath, Kent. Jan. 26, 1932, No. 2354. [Class 38 (ii).] Electric terminals 5 are mounted in an insulating closure 3 for airtight containers enclosing electrical apparatus, such as condensers, by providing on the terminal a distension 6 which is drawn into intimate contact with the closure 3 by flattening or riveting the inner end of the terminal over metal connecting tabs 9. The closure may be provided with a metal edging 4, and may be pressed into the end of a rectangular metal casing 2 enclosing a condenser pack 1, the other end being closed by a metal plate 11 after compound 10 such as bitumen has been poured in, an air space 12 being left to allow expansion. The ends of the terminal 7 may be flattened and notched to facilitate soldering.
