[Classes 75 (i) and 126.] A combined solid and gaseous fuel cooking-stove comprises, in the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, a gas burner 10 arranged between the fire-box 6 and the oven 5, the gases from the burner flowing in a flue which wholly or partly surrounds the oven and in which the gases from the fire when alight also flow, both the oven and hot-plate 16 being heated from it. The burner 10 is removably supported on lugs 9, 12 and may be withdrawn through the front of the stove after turning up the swivelling gas pipe 19 which carries the gas supply nipple. A baffle 17 protects the part of the hot-plate immediately above the burner. Alternatively, the gas burner may be arranged in the oven top flue or on or near the top of the oven, Fig. 10 showing such an arrangement in which a D-section bar burner 33 is pivotally mounted in a recess 34 at the top edge of the oven adjacent the fire, so that it may be rotated from the position of use shown in full lines to the out-of-use position shown in broken lines, in which the jet-openings 36 are protected, and its upper surface is flush with the oven top. The rear end of the burner 33 is rotatably mounted in a gas supply fitting 40, Fig. 11, in which is a rotary hit-and-miss air regulating sleeve 45 with a milled surface 46 exposed through the air apertures 44. A gas-ring may be mounted in a recess or casing associated with the hot-plate.
