Abstract

386,029. Pneumatic-sucker fastenings. BRIGGS, G., 124, Sutherland Avenue, Maida Vale, London. Aug. 26, 1931, No. 24013. [Class 44.] A showcard a or other article is held against a window or other surface by means of a rubber suction cup b located within an aperture a<1> in the showcard, a spring d also being provided which bears on the back of the showcard and imparts a pull on the centre of the cup, thereby maintaining a better vacuum. The cup b is held in position by a piece of linen c which is stuck to the back of the cup and round the periphery of the hole a<1>. The spring d, which is formed from a single piece of wire, engages the knob bl of the cup and presses the card a firmly against the supporting surface. The card a is of any desired shape, and may also be provided with a shelf or hooks for displaying articles. More than one cup may be used, and extensible arms may be provided for holding posters &c. against the window. A disc g bearing additional advertising matter may be located within the cup, as described in Specification 388,791.
