Abstract

385,383. Washing granular materials. BROAD BANK, W. A. J., Newtown Garage, Ringwood Road, Parkstone, Dorset. Oct. 19, 1931, No. 29043. [Class 82 (ii).] Apparatus for washing and grading gravel or other granular material comprises an inclined rotary tube 1 carried by a solid shaft 3 and having a conveying spiral 5, the wall of the tube at the upper end being replaced by a series of screens of increasing mesh. In the form shown three screens 6 are shown, discharging into separate hoppers formed by partitions 7. Gravel is fed to the lower end of the tube and water through a pipe 8 entering at the upper end. The outside of the screens 6 is washed by water from a perforated pipe 9.
