Abstract
Vat dyes, dyeing with.--Vat-dyeing preparations comprise anhydrous sodium hydrosulphite admixed with a dry alkaline alkali metal compound in such proportion that the quantity of the latter present is equivalent to at least 2 mols. NaOH for each mol. of hydrosulphite. Alkali metal compounds specified are hydroxides, carbonates, phosphates, and silicates, and admixture with the hydrosulphite may be effected in a ball mill.ALSO:Anhydrous sodium hydrosulphite is stabilized by admixture with a dry alkaline alkali metal compound in such proportion that the quantity of the latter present is equivalent to at least 2 mols. NaOH for each mol. of hydrosulphite. Alkali metal compounds specified are hydroxides, carbonates, phosphates, and silicates, and admixture with the hydrosulphite may be effected in a ball mill. The preparations obtained may be used for vat-dyeing.
