Abstract

384,808. Brake shoes. COLLINS, W. N., 15, Brunswick Road, Ealing, and SHIRES, H. R. S., 1, Hillcrest Road, Acton, both in London. Dec. 18, 1931, No. 35047. [Class 103 (i).] The surface of a brake shoe adapted to receive the friction lining B is shaped so that one or each end of the lining recedes in an arcuate direction from the braking surface of the drum when the brake shoe is in braking position, and abutments J<1> are formed against which the ends of the lining are supported. Binding of the brake shoes is thus prevented and a gradual engagement is obtained.
