Abstract

To 35 per cent solution of ethylene glycol employed as an engine-cooling medium a quantity of lard oil equal to about 1,5 per cent of the volume of alcohol is added. The lard oil may be replaced by sperm, soya bean, cotton seed corn, or other oils, or equal parts of lard oil and mineral oil may be used. Triethanolamine or other emulsifying agent may be added to the oil and other alcohols than ethylene glycol may be used.
