Abstract

384,066. Wagon-tipping apparatus; shoots. BARKER, W. H., Etna Works, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. Nov. 20, 1931, No. 32198. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv).] In a rotary coaltipper a provided with a shoot c on the discharge side partly overhanging the wagon in order to break the fall of the coal on to the main shoot d, the shoot c is deeply corrugated as shown at f in the cross section, Fig. 2, so that small coal passes down the grooves without being crushed by the large lumps and tends to be delivered on to the main shoot in advance of the large coal, whereby sorting or screening is facilitated. The main shoot d may be similarly corrugated.
