Abstract

581,396. Firebars. COLLINS, G. W. May 1, 1945, No. 10993. [Class 51 (i)] A fire bar comprises a main body part in the form of a vertical rib, a plurality of transverse ribs extending from one side only of said body part, and air-deflecting extensions, extending from the undersides of the alternate transverse ribs inclined towards the front end of the bar and extending the full depth thereof. The fire bar .as shown in the under-plan view in Fig. 1 and in elevation in Fig. 2 has a main rib 1, and opening slightly towards its lower end with alternating ribs 3, 4 extending transversely from the side 1a, the ribs 3 being of small depth and tapering back on their undersides to points 3b on the main rib. The ribs 4 have extensions 4b, 4c inclined from their undersides towards the front end of the fire bar, and extending to a point 4d on the lower edge of the main rib, The ribs 3 may be shorter transversely than the ribs 4 and both sets of ribs may have a slight outward taper.
